A LETTER FOR RAINY DAYS
Hi Pretty Flower,
It’s a lot, I know.
The heavy weight of uncertainty bearing down on your shoulders. The ominous winds of change thrashing against you. The onerous anxiety rumbling in the pit of your stomach. It’s a lot, I know, because I feel it, too.
I know that your soul is drained. I know that your heart hurts. I know that you feel broken. But I also know that you are going to be okay. You are going to be more than okay. Because you showed up. Better yet, you chose to do so. And even if it feels like it took everything you had just to get dressed, know that you are going to make it. Some days the sun will shine brighter than ever, and others it will be just about putting one foot in front of the other.
You are not broken. Your unbecoming is your growth. The aches you feel are your heart shedding the things not meant for you. It’s His way of breaking you open and softening your heart. It’s His way of shaping your precious life, preparing you for the many beautiful things to come.
So do your best to embrace the uncertainty and change. I know it can be hard, and sometimes it’s not so pretty. But get dressed and show up anyway, in whatever manner feels good for you. You are going to make it through the storm. Because every flower grows through dirt, and it can’t flourish without a little rain.
Romans 8:18 - For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed to us.
